Refresh Intervals

Each endpoint group has a fixed maximum data age. Once that threshold is exceeded, the next request automatically triggers a re-scrape from the RSI website — no ?refresh=true required, and no daily quota spent.

tip

Use expiresAt to schedule your next poll.

Every response includes an expiresAt timestamp telling you when the cached data expires. There is no point re-fetching before that timestamp unless you explicitly need live data via ?refresh=true.

Pair this with ETags for maximum efficiency: if you poll more often than the refresh interval, 304 Not Modified responses confirm nothing has changed without downloading the full body.

For the current quota reset and cache refresh schedule, call GET /management/status (no API key required) — see Rate Limits & Quota.
